Wayne Sody called the meeting to order @ 7:33 PM.
TREASURER'S
REPORT: Bob Valentin read a treasurer’s report. It
was accepted.
MINUTES: Rich Boschert previously sent the October minutes to all Board
members.
CHAIRMAN
REPORTS:
Legislative: Richard
Riley reported very little was going on. A bill was introduced in the special
session about the definition of an ATV.
Membership: Hilly Bell reported she has met with the Schuelers and got a copy
of the membership data. Efforts to load it into Access have not been
successful, yet.
Dirt
Track: Chairman not present, no report.
Road
Riding: Russell Fleming reported the season is over.
There was not enough participation to present awards at the banquet.
Quad
MX / HS: Chairman not present, no report.
Youth
MX: Tim Desombre reported the season is over.
Sr/Vet
MX : Rich Boschert reported the season is over.
MX: Chairman not present, no report.
Trials: Chairman not present, no report.
B/C MX: Steve
Carruthers reported the season is over, the final points are posted to the web
page. He is setting Trackside up to tabulate championship points for all
disciplines.
Women’s
MX: Steve Carruthers reported the points are up
to date and posted to the web page.
Contingency/Sponsorships: Anna Corbin reported all is quiet.
Congress / Board Members: Alan DeCarlo said all is quiet.
Greg Boutwell said nice thank yous were received
from the Alzheimer’s Foundation and from Mary Hurley for contributions made. He
mentioned several potential rules changes including 4 stroke displacement
advantages.
Karen Grogg said Congress was good.
Dave Resch said life is good.
Bob Winters said non-competition events were more
defined by Congress and will have less expensive insurance.
Brett Friedel said the banquet is coming up. There
is a special room rate, called “Take the elevator home”. He is collecting all
trophy lists. Several dealers will have motorcycles on display.
EventPhotoNow.com will be there. Tim Rader will be there for a story in Cycling
East. Dave Resch will have name tags for Board members. There will not be a bicycle
to raffle off. There will be a 50/50 raffle. Brett will send the trophy
information to Chris Borger for the trophies. Ken Doane is getting #1 plates
for Hare Scrambles champions. Rich Boschert will coordinate with Tom Welch
about getting #1 plates for MX champions.
OLD BUSINESS: Wayne Sody re-opened the nominations for the Sportsmanship award.
Richard Riley motioned to close nominations, Bob Valentin seconded. Motion
passed. Board members voted, they were counted. The results will be announced
at the banquet.
Mike Corbin and Richard Riley discussed the moto
token dealer promotion.
The pre-sanction meeting will be December 14, 6:30
PM.
Wayne Sody opened up discussions for each promoter
prior to the Board voting for proposed the 2008 MX Gold Series. Extreme
Productions withdrew their race from consideration for the 2008 Gold Series.
Each other promoter extolled the virtues of their facilities and expressed
interest in hosting Gold Series races. Votes were taken by ballot for proposed
series and one was selected. Russ Fleming made a motion that if any promoter
does not show up at a pre-sanction meeting, their race(s) will be removed from
the series, Alan DeCarlo seconded. The motion failed. Steve Carruthers made a
motion that any promoter who does not attend, and does not have a legitimate
reason for missing a pre-sanction meeting will have their race(s) removed from
the series, Tim DeSombre seconded. Motion passed.
NEW BUSINESS: Wayne Sody said the next meeting will be Saturday, December 1,
following the sanction meeting.
Brett Friedel said each discipline needs to review
the supplemental rules.
Steve Carruthers said each promoter needs to go to
the Trackside web page to get a download that will allow their software to work
with the AMA.
Brett Friedel said the discussions at previous
meetings about the District 7/MAMA joint venture were based on misinformation.
Brett Friedel made a motion to continue the District
7/MAMA joint venture that was started for 2007, Dave Resch seconded. The motion
passed.
At 10:10 PM, a motion was made to adjourn, it was
seconded, the motion passed.
